WHAT IS CORE PROCESS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Core Process Psychotherapy offers a therapeutic relationship with a trained practitioner. It is based in Buddhist Psychology and Western Psychotherapies, working from the premise that at our Core we are all healthy.

Central to our work is the recognition that within each one of us there is an inner drive towards health and wholeness, which may be hidden by distress and difficulty, but is the ‘Core’ of our being.

Core Process Psychotherapy develops the capacity for awareness within a compassionate relationship. Bringing awareness to limitting blocks and habitual patterns, which may have initially developed for our protection, can allow increased choice and greater freedom in our lives.

Openness to our experience in mind, body and feelings frees the energy from the Core and can move us towards healing. Whatever can be brought fully into awareness will eventually be integrated, allowing the past to be released thus enabling movement forward into greater wholeness.

Integral to the process is recognising and acknowledging the resources we already have. These resources can support us as we explore our pain, difficulty and traumatic experience.
